Where dreams begin...

Day 1298:

To some, an old school shoyu ramen might seem too simple. But be careful because simple can often mean too complex to comprehend.

Chuuka Tokudai is the best that Ogikubo has to offer. And yes I'm saying that to Harukiya's face. haha.

Who knew chicken feet could taste so dreamy.

So good.

So much history.

Mutsuki (睦月) has been on my list for awhile and since I was already in Ogikubo I thought I'd get it out of the way.

Surprisingly, it was damn good.

And the noodles were extra chewy which was satisfying.

Very satisfying.

Off to Jiraigen boss' house!!

Now that was funny!

Baby loko misses my beard.

So what do you do when your mentor shows you his 20yo collection of ramen books and says feel free to borrow any of them?

I had to change my pants...twice.

The future of ramen...

Day 1163:

The future...

Is in our hands.

Not in their hands...

But our hands.

Yours...

Mine...

And ours.

An unbelievable night...

Ending in delight.

Saikoro Boom...

Day 1162:

I'm not gonna lie, but change is just a matter of time and time is all it takes to change. Let's just hope it all works out in the end. Or for that matter, let's just hope it never ends.

Boom may have left basa, but sooner or later everyone has to leave, right? Btw, Boom looks good in red.

If not Bassanova, then Saikoro may be the next best place to work.

Boom 頑張って!Make some good men dammit!

I still had some days left on my juhachi kippu so I decided to take a ride to Mt. Takao.

Unfortunately, the sun was beginning to set and the last tram down was 30 minutes after we took our tram up.

But I got some good shots. Peaceful shots.

On the way back I made a stop in Hachioji for some curry.

Just kidding. haha.

Hachioji is known for Shoyu Ramen with diced onions. And Hirotomi (弘富) represents!

I needed that.

Afterwards it was time to meet up in Nakameguro with an old friend. No not this guy. (Hiroshi...lol!)

Chicken balls!!

Good to see you Reina!! We need to get DNo back in Japan!!!

And one last beer for the road.

Thanks So!

Back to back bounenkai!...

Day 1153:

It's official. Kusamura (草むら) has been my favorite shop of 2012.

Now this is one bowl I wouldn't mind eating every single day.

Maybe even twice a day.

This year has been a dream...

Boom's face explains it all!

After party!!

Bounenkai round 2! Shindaita rocks!!

And we survived!!!
