Baby Star Ramen Otsumami - Ramen Snack (Day 5)

With very few ramen-ya's in Kawaguchiko (good ones at least), the only things I felt like doing after our Mt. Fuji climb was eating ramen otsumami and drinking beer. By the way, we made it to the summit!

Ramen otsumami with peanuts is one of the best snacks after a long, miserable, yet rewarding climb. The spicy after-taste sneaks up on you, but is easily refreshed with your favorite beer.

Enjoying a beer and munching on ramen otsumami at the Fit Resort Club in Kawaguchiko after climbing Fujisan was priceless...

Here are some pics from our climb:

The rising sun.

A volcanic rainbow.

My favorite.

Fujisan's crater.

The climb was tougher than I thought it would be, especially due to the rain, high winds, and near freezing temps. But I'm glad I did it! Feel free to email me if you need any pointers or would just like to know more details.

  1. Hi Keizo,

Amazing pics of Mt. Fuji and the scenery! I can't wait to climb it on my next trip. :)

  2. Yes I highly recommend the climb but I must warn you that it is very hard. Throughout the climb I kept telling myself that I would never do this again, but once I got to the top and saw the sunrise, it cured everything. I think I might do it again next year!

  3. Isn't there a saying about you're a fool if you don't climb fujisan, but you're a bigger fool if you climb it more than once? Congrats on making it to the top!

I really like the pic of the torii and how it frames the clouds.

  4. Ya I think I heard that saying too, but I'll be the first to admit being a fool.
