Day 1211:
One of my ramen friends recently opened up a new shop in Shinjuku.
Menya Shono Gotsubo (麺や 庄の〜gotsubo〜) is a tsukemen shop with an entirely new concept. Tsukeveggie! (bagna cauda?)
I ordered the Veggie Tsukemen.
Which is a tsukemen that includes a few choice veggies that can also be dipped.
Honestly, I'd rather just dip the noodles.
But I bet this will be copied by many.
Including me. haha. Thanks Shono-san!!
いらっしゃいませ!

New additions...
Day 1156:
2013...full speed ahead!
The first and second day of the year is always reserved for family.
And great food! Thanks Auntie!
Milky!! (rip Mint)
Cousin little!! I think the beard scared him. haha.
On my way home I got an allergic reaction to something and needed a cure quick.
And since nothing was really open, this Miso Ramen from Mihachi (北海道らーめん 味八) in Shinjuku had to do.
Cured.
Day two in the books!

Ramen fix...
Day 1113:
I touched down in Tokyo at night and needed a ramen fix real bad and I found the perfect place.
Wakatsuki.
My favorite mama was on break...
But my favorite ramen was not.
I need to bring a ramen like this to the states.
Now that would be a dream...

Vally lillies...
Day 1099:
Suzuran (つけめん中華そば 鈴蘭) in Shinjuku near Shinjuku Sanchome Station opened in May of this year. Not to be confused with the Suzuran in Shibuya.
Chuukasoba (中華そば).
Not much impact and tastes similar to Isoji or Saru Suberi.
Tokusei Tsukemen (特製つけめん).
The noodles are from Kanejin and the chashu is slow cooked sous-vide style. Both of these accent the tsukemen nicely.
The first few slurps were delicious and different from the rest, but after awhile it just tasted like every other tonkotsu-gyokai tsukemen.
Is this a trend that will never end?

The arrival...
Day 917:
I was anticipating the arrival...
So I went to eat at one of my favorite ramen shops in all of Tokyo.
If you don't know where this is...
Then you must not be paying attention.
Alright this is your last chance.
Saikoro!
It was almost time...
But a bowl at a yatai was calling.
And then so was she...

The return of Calvin and Jordan...
Day 867:
It was a beautiful day in Shinjuku.
A beautiful day for ramen.
A beautiful day for Shoyu Ramen at Shunmen Shiroha (旬麺しろ八).
It's a bit on the salty side, but they do ask if you want it adjusted. The noodles were a little on the hard side, but it wasn't a bad bowl. AND I did get a free piece of chashu for being the first customer of the day.
Calvin and Jordan...what a surprise!
This calls for a Beverly Hills Burger.
Minus the avocado and the egg. haha.

Fuuu...
Day 864:
If you're gonna wait in line at Fuunji ()...
You might wait awhile.
But here's a pointer for you. Don't get the ramen! It's shockingly bland.
It would be wise to stick with the tsukemen.
There you have it.

Walk on...
Day 814:
In the morning, I walked through Shinjuku until I reached 二丁目 つけめん GACHI.
It's another new shop that has been receiving plenty of hype lately.
But nothing really seems to live up to the hype anymore.
This Tonkotsu-Gyokai tsukemen was plenty good, but also plenty complicated.
Then after a brief walk to the pond...
I took a walk in the park.
Those aren't my footsteps, I swear!
Ooh a "California-style" hot dog!
It must be a different California. Btw, I asked for no pickles and onions.
Time to take a break and watch other people walk.
There's nothing like walking home in the freezing cold with hot cup of oden.
It's a sausage!
