Day 91:
As one faithful reader pointed out in the comments of yesterday's post, I am no longer a tourist!! And my first day of being an official resident of Tokyo was welcomed with a light blanket of snow--the perfect weather for ramen. Wait...who am I kidding? Any weather is the perfect weather to eat ramen for me! But yes, it is nice to slurp down a hot, steamy bowl of ramen when the thermometer hits freezing.
I spent the morning looking at apartments with the fudousan (realtor). We practically searched throughout all of south Suginami-ku on bicycles in the freezing cold. We even got lost a few times, but it was nice to be in the open air rather than a car. Plus, this lady was courteous and I felt like I could trust her, unlike most other fudousan's that can be downright shady. Be careful of those.
After seeing four places, I found one I really liked. We'll see what happens. Anyway, it was lunch time and I was craving a burger so I stopped at Mos Burger to eat this new Tobikiri Cheeseburger. Yum. And then it was off to work.
After work, the whole crew at Ivan Ramen [including Ivan!] took a ramen field trip to Bassanova.
For a change, I ordered the Tom Yum Tsukesoba.
I think I've said this before, but Bassanova Rocks!!
The gyoza was also delicious. I can't believe I never ordered it before. You would think I've tried everything on the menu by now.
I think I'll go back again tomorrow...
I've had Mos Burger once...in Hong Kong. It was different than anything found in the US. And that's why it's totally awesome.
ReplyDeleteYes, totally awesome!
