Exposed...

Day 335:

I woke up this morning with a craving for tsukemen. I know, I must be getting sick. I never crave tsukemen. Anyhow, without much time before work, I went back to Menya Tenhou to see what they had to offer.

Surprisingly, their tsukemen was really good.

The pickled mountain kikurage must be their secret ingredient. I was impressed to say the least. And as I got up to leave, the manager had recognized me and asked if I worked at Bassanova. Apparently he's seen me before. I've been exposed! haha.

Fuji TV came back to Bassanova to finalize a few more shots of our ramen. The program will air on 10/7 at 1am on channel 8 so check it out if you can.

The highlight of the night was getting a surprise visit from Kimura-san. It was great to see him again and he was bearing gifts!

He brought me some ramen from his hometown of Niigata.

I added my own twist to this Ichii (いち井) shio ramen, but the soup was like whoa.

If you love shrimp, you'll want to marry this.

Kidding aside, this may inspire a trip to Niigata someday.

Kimura-san, ありがとう!

  1. I wish stores in Chicago sold boxes of ramen like that! Jealous

  3. Hi Keizo,

For us overseas readers of your blog, could you make a video copy of the Fuji TV program on Youtube and post it on your blog please? That would be great!
