The dark side...

Day 340:

The other night, I had promised Murakami-san that I would come visit one more time before heading back to Japan. He wanted me to try his new gyoza, which he claims is better than the #1 ranked gyoza in socal. And you know what? I have to agree totally. The only thing really different is the gyoza skin, but indeed it's a huge difference. Murakami-san concocted a new recipe that really improves the flavor of the gyoza overall. Also, one of my main complaints before was that once the gyoza cooled it wasn't as good. But these new skins really manage to maintain their crisp and make the cold gyoza taste just as good as it did warm.

The other reason why I was here was to take two of the most beautiful people I know out to lunch--my mom and my good friend Laris. Btw, Laris and her husband are probably the two most honest optometrists in the world. Trust me, they've helped me see more than just what's in front of me.

I always have the hardest time ordering when I get here. So I just stuck with my roots and ordered the Kakiage Shoyu.

Mom had the Tanmen.

And Laris had the Miso.

The rest of the day was spent running errands and meeting up with people I haven't seen since I left for Japan 11 months ago. Like Mr. Round Table Pizza.

And Ms. Wendy's Chili.

Woah, I've never seen you before. Yup, as a former programmer I've made the cross over to the darkside. Credit cards aren't to be played with, but hopefully this will turn out to be a great investment.

This may be my last trip home for awhile...
