My perfect day...

Day 155:

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain drops thinking that my day off would have to be spent mostly indoors. F that! I'm going out! Even in the rain the cherry blossoms are beautiful. Forgive me but I'd like to take a moment to breathe. Ahh...I truly am blessed to be living this dream. Even though my days are long and the work is hard, I am having fun and I enjoy going in to work everyday. Sometimes I don't even think it should be called work. Anyway, let's go get some ramen!

Near Kugayama station off the Keio Inokashira Line, about five stations northwest of where I live, is a popular chuuka soba shop named Kai. If you've gotten to know me over the past few years, you'll know that this is the type of ramen I live for--a nostalgic old school Tokyo-style shoyu ramen.

If you cut me, this is what I'll bleed.

But please...don't cut me.

Others might think this style is too simple and plain, but this is what ramen is to me. Kai does a good job with their chuuka soba, but I know there is better out there.

I never knew Kugayama was such a beautiful place. The nearby river filled with koi and sprinkled with sakura leaves was a wonderful sight to see.

A day off wouldn't be complete without visiting my beautiful nieces. For the first time, the little one wouldn't let me leave the house. Cuties...

The day is not over yet but I'd thought I'd get this post out a little early for a change. See you tomorrow....
