Day 647:
Some think that there's barely enough healthy ramen. I think...isn't all ramen healthy? Menya Yattoko (麺屋やっとこ) in Nakano-ku doesn't exactly advertise healthy, but with a careful blend of chicken, fish, pork and veggies, what more could you ask for?
I found Yotteko as I was browsing the latest tsukemen magazine at my local bookstore. The reviews on RDB weren't that great, but it was close and I needed something new to try. The Toku Tsukemen (徳つけめん) included a hanjuku egg, extra chashu, menma, and a piece of nori. The soup was light, tasty, and lacking any strong odors--better than I expected it to be.
Soaking in the tsukejiru was this lonely piece of kabocha (Japanese pumpkin). I guess this is the vegetable part.
The noodles were slick, chewy, and too sexy for this soup. Overall, a barely decent tsukemen.
Hello mum! Thank you again for the fabulous dinner.
I missed the puri puri.
