Day 680:
Ganko...
I'm sure you've heard of it.
And I'm sure you've done your research.
No...this is not that Ganko. But the master here is extremely knowledgeable about ramen. When I told him about my trip from Hokkaido to Kyushu where I ate 55 bowls in 28 days, he responded "That's all?? Oh you must have eaten other stuff too." Then he started quizzing me and asked me to stick around after I finished my bowl.
Anyhow, here's the procedure. When you walk in, the master asks "ramen or tsukemen?" I chose ramen. Then he asks "assari or kotteri?" I chose assari, in which he replied "Is this your first time here? Good choice!" Needless to say, I was scared.
I slurped unusually slow, not knowing what awaited. And I could tell that this was a bowl with decades of wear-and-tear.
Then it came...the jar of specially prepared green peppers.
Could it be?? Is it really him? (Nah...it can't be right?) Anyway, I passed all his tests, for the moment. It started to get busy and he told me that we would continue next time. Will there be a next time? Mos def!
Nobo!!!
This batch, was a good batch. It's definitely better now than it was a few weeks ago.
And you're damn right I'm stubborn! haha...well sometimes.
