Oyster roasting...

Day 1083:

The last day of the FoodFilmFest is here. And also, the last day for ramen in New York.

Sapporo Ramen in Midtown recently revamped their menu and my friends over at Yamachan asked me to check it out.

After introducing myself to the manager, he explained to us their menu. Thanks Jyun-san!

Although Miso Ramen is the most popular, Jyun-san recommended the Shio Ramen.

Light and refreshing with a comfortable blend of salt, it was a simple shio.

And then I ordered the Miso Ramen.

Too sweet for my tastes, but the noodles were good.

But try the Shio Ramen if you go. You might like it.

Low Country Oyster Roast!!!

Enjoy!

I'm gonna miss everyone.

But hopefully I'll get to come back soon.

And one last bowl at Ramen Yebisu in Williamsburg before I leave.

Miso Ramen.

Shoyu Ramen.

Yebisu Ramen.

They all shared the same noodle. Perhaps in time this will change.

I really liked their Miso Ramen, but try and guess which bowl this was...

Thank you Brooklyn! Thank you Manhattan! Thank you FoodFilmFest! Thank you New York!!! I'll remember this trip forever!

Food porn party...

Day 1082:

After one of the best nights of my life...

It was time to enjoy it with a walk in the park.

With a slice of pizza.

And of course, with a bowl of ramen (or two). Rai Rai Ken in the East Village has been a staple for ramen in NYC for many years now and with a modernized new location just a few doors down from the old one, it is poised to stick around in the shadows of the recent ramen influx.

Mabo Ramen.

I'm a fan.

Shoyu Ramen.

She's a fan.

Nearby is a takoyaki shop called Otafuku that is owned by the same people as Rai Rai Ken. Otafuku was also featured in a film last night called Tako NY. Speaking of ownership, I'd like to thank the ownership group of Rai Rai Ken for helping out with the ramen event last night. Without you guys it wouldn't have been a success. 本当にありがとうございました!

Shout out! Umi no ie! Check it out!

Food Porn Party!!!

Legs Malone!

DJ Keili!!!

Thank you Warsteiner for sponsoring the FoodFilmFest!

But I think I drank way too many of your beers.

Time for the food porn!

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the world's very first food porn star...

Larry Cauldwell.

By the way, ask me about the Zima story and the part I played.

Thanks to David Burke for all the food tonight.

Food Porn...the trailer.

Larry is the man.

Jeannie the dog!!

And oh yeah. WE WON!!! BEST SHORT FILM!!!

And if you were wondering (and I'm sure you were), Larry was wearing a "Snugwow", a snuggie made with shamwow's. An awesome idea! haha.

What a night.

A crazy fun night!

Thank you FoodFilmFest!
