Hello Tokyo! Let the dream begin!!

Day 0:

After graduating college, I spent several months in Japan interviewing for what I thought would be a long and lucrative career in Investment Banking. I had dreams of living in Tokyo with my relatives and thought the only way possible would be to land an analyst position with one of those well-known i-banking firms. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the job market was just as bad then as it is now and after several painstaking rounds of monotonous, unsuccessful interviews, I decided to go back to LA. It's funny how things work out though. Looking back, I would never ever want to go into i-banking. It's just not me. And I don't think I could've done the ramen thing back then either. I was too young to know what I wanted. But now it has all come together and the timing couldn't be more perfect! Seriously, let the dream begin!

Over the past couple years, I've developed a sort of ramen tradition of my own when arriving in Japan. It goes something like this: Get off the plane, hop on a bus to Tokyo, head out to Spain Bar (El Barrill) for tapas and drinks, and then cap off the night with some jet-lag-curing green curry ramen from Bassanova. Need I say more? This was definitely one of the best nights to continue with tradition.

What's better than one bowl of green curry ramen? Three!! Oh what a beautiful sight! Haha. No, I didn't eat them all. I had Brian and Nate to help with the kickoff.

Thanks for the welcoming party!! Spain Bar rocks!! Bassanova rocks!! Holy s***! I'm in Japan!!!

Yo Nate! Is this where you parked your bike?

Now it's time to get to work!!
