Synthesized...

Day 885:

Down this street, across from the beautiful cherry blossom, used to be one of my favorite ramen shops. Do you know the name?

I had heard there was a new ramen shop in Ogikubo located on the same street where Futaba was. But I was surprised to discover that it was located in the same exact spot where Futaba used to be. I guess Futaba moved closer to the station.

Anyway, Neiroya (ねいろ屋) is so new it doesn't even have a sign. The menu is small and hand written with only three bowls to choose from: Shio Ramen, Noukou Torisoba, and Shio Tsukemen.

First up was the Shio Ramen (しおらーめん).

A light blend of chicken and fish that was extremely clean in flavor. The noodles seemed a bit of a mismatch with the soup, but overall it was still very good.

Next up was the Noukou Torisoba (濃厚とりそば) or more commonly known as tori-paitan.

Imagine the shio ramen above...with milk. I'm not sure if milk was added but it tasted very creamy.

The shio might have been better, but this wanna-be-tori-paitan still had some punch.

As we were leaving the master handed us some dekopons.

Dekopon!
