25 years ago, when ramen began it's notorious boom, Nandenkanden introduced the first stinky Hakata-style Tonkotsu Ramen to Tokyo.
And back in the day, people would line up for miles just to get a taste of this milky ramen from the south.
But as of tomorrow, the original honten will be closing its doors forever.

So of course I had to pay my respects.
Chashu Ramen.
I pass by Nandenkanden almost everyday after work and I probably should have stopped by more, but I could never get used to that stink. On a good day, it would venture all the way to Bassanova and beyond.
Kaedama kudasai!!!
If this is my last bowl of Nandenkanden, then kaedama was a must.
Supposedly, the shop will be moving to Hatagaya next year, but there have been rumors that that just may be a rumor.
Regardless, I'm gonna miss running into Kawahara-san every night.
And yes, I will miss that stink.
