Hello Chicago! After a grueling 15 hours on the plane (with a stopover in Seoul), it was good to see Will and Nicole at the airport. Thanks for picking me up guys!!
Chicago Theater!! No this won't be the site of this year's FoodFilmFest. Maybe next year! haha.
Of course my first meal in Chicago would have to be...ramen. Voted best ramen in Chicago last year, Slurping Turtle was first on my list.
Duck Fat Fried Chicken.
Best ramen in Chicago? I think I might be in for a treat. All of these were lacking body and had no depth whatsoever. The noodles were brittle and although I slurped them all, I couldn't kanshoku the entire bowl. The soup was just too salty in the end.
Restaurant Depot is great!
Kendall College! The site for this year's FoodFilmFest!
Seth picked us up some hot dogs from Weiner Circle. Amazing! But he forgot the chocolate shakes!
Alright, time to get my hands dirty.
After a little prep help, it was time for dinner at Old Jerusalem in Old Town where George and Seth were enjoying their morning tv taping on abc7.
Then Seth and I decided to go across the street for some ramen at Tokyo 21.
I think the look on Seth's face says it all. This was right after he said "dude, my bamboo shoot is still frozen."
I'm sorry Tokyo 21, but this was as far as I could get.
The FoodFilmFest crew!!
Washing my mouth out with some Genesee.
And some La Petite Mort.
Tomorrow, I will kiss the sky...
